STREETLAB.IO: THE NFT PLATFORM FOR STREET-ARTISTS

IS LAUNCHING ITS FIRST COLLECTION: FREE MUERTOS TRIBUTE

After 3D Modeling, Painting, Generative Art and Photography, Street-Art is the next major artistic movement to be taken over by the NFT revolution. At the margin of the traditional art market, Street-Art is a militant movement connected to the Blockchain fight against centralization and censorship.

Streetlab.io is the new decentralized platform dedicated to #StreetArtNFT. Street-artists launch their NFT projects on the platform and collectors buy them directly without any intermediaries.

The first collection is launching in February: Free Muertos Tribute by the Mexican Street-Artist Yescka.

Street-Art is ephemeral, with timeless messages. NFTs are a path for these artworks to become eternal. They can be destroyed in real life, they will be here forever on the blockchain.Opening new fields of creativity, connecting Street-Artists directly to their collectors and unlocking new revenue sources, the greatest #StreetArtNFT community is building around streetlab.io to empower all street-artists willing to enter the NFT scene.

Streetlab first collection

Streetlab.io is meant to become for Street-Art what Artblocks is for generative art:

a place for street-artists to launch their NFT projects and for collectors to buy the best curated #StreetArtNFT artworks.

For its launch, Streetlab.io is hosting a first #StreetArtNFT collection by Mexican militant Street-Artist Yescka : Free Muertos Tribute.

Free Muertos Tribute

Free Muertos Tribute is a limited NFT collection of hand-drawn skeleton characters. The style of the collection is called woodcut printing, direct reference to the widely used printing method used to spread the ideals of the Mexican revolution of the early 20th century.

The series is inspired by the Day of the Dead, one of the Mexican biggest traditions, paying tribute to all the freedom fighters, to symbolize the complementarity of Street-Art and NFTs in the struggle against censorship.

Yescka

Street-Artist Yescka began painting graffiti when he was 15 on the streets of Oaxaca in Mexico. During social uprises in Mexico in 2006, Yescka used his art to denounce the abuses, the assassinations and all the problems that emerged from this conflict. He realized then how powerful an image could be to fight for a cause

“I consider the streets to be the best gallery to expose my work but I also truly believe that blockchain technology and NFTs can be an amazing medium to carry strong messages.
I strongly believe in the ideology of decentralization, as the way to bring more equity and more freedom in our society.”
