Jadu Jetpacks are first of their kind AR NFTs that give your avatars the ability to fly in the Metaverse. Jetpacks can be worn immediately by Meebits on September 13th, but this is just the first step in giving hundreds of current and future 3D avatar NFT collections a uniform way to interact and play with each other. Fluf World, VOID: Imma Degen and more collections coming soon.
Jetpacks will be available to mint on September 13th at 4 pm EST on Jadu, giving your avatars the power of flight.
How did you come up with the idea for this project?
At Jadu, the initial goal has always been to make AR accessible and we wanted to figure out a way to bring unique 3D characters to life in AR, so we started with Meebits. Jadu Jetpacks are the first of the limited edition accessories that we are releasing.
Besides working in AR, we wanted to allow Jetpacks to be utilized in the Metaverse and various virtual worlds. We also decided we needed to build a whole universe that will take NFT collections and allow them to live in the real world. Introducing the Mirrorverse – the intersection of the real world and the Metaverse.
The expansion into the Mirrorverse came as a natural next step as part of the evolution of Jadu – we started with social sharing musical AR performances having worked with stars like Lil Nas X, Vic Mensa and Pussy Riot. This expansion builds upon Jadu’s existing library of holographic AR experiences where a player’s physical reality and the digital reality of the Metaverse become interoperable.
We’re not solely building for the future, but focusing on how we can immediately bring the virtual and physical worlds together. We’re enabling different 3D NFT collections to be playable avatars, immediately functional on the day of the Jadu app update.
Jetpacks are the first AR-enabled NFT collection for 3D characters available in the Mirrorverse bringing them to life in mobile AR. In the Jadu app, Meebits are controlled with a digital joystick allowing them to interact with each other and real world surroundings.
With Jadu Jetpacks, Metaverse characters such as Meebits have the power to fly throughout the Mirrorverse in style. As part of the journey to create a vibrant, interactive Mirrorverse, we added a contextual layer to fill the market gap, empowering collectors of digital goods with interactive elements to their NFTs, adding real world value & function to digital assets.
Our intention is to build an ecosystem of items where characters can coexist and interact.
How big is the team and what are their roles?
Our past work has been spotlighted at festivals like Sundance and Tribeca. Our work is studied at prestigious universities including USC and UC Berkeley. We’ve built realistic holograms of global icons like Serena Williams, Lil Nas X and Pussy Riot. Our team members have played important roles in some of the most notable NFT drops like Grimes, TIME Magazine & Pussy Riot.
What is the price? Why is that price fair?
Meebits are currently trading for as high as 90,000 ETH with many trading around 6 ETH. With 0.111 ETH, you can give your Meebit or similar avatar the capability to fly around the real world. We want to ensure we build a community of those that want to be a part of the Mirrorverse. The Jadu Jetpacks collection focuses on stylish utility rather than thousands of unique aesthetic traits.
