Clément Morin NFT Artist Interview

Please provide any details about your background and what got you into art:

I was born in Normandy, France.  I spent 15 years in Paris after my studies, but I missed the greenery (and rain?) too much, so I am back in Normandy now.  As many Artists I started art with drawing when I was young, then I learned and studied in photography at Gobelins School in Paris. I don’t regret it at all, because it allowed me to start 3d with a particular attention to the lighting and ambiances.

One thing you cannot live without?

My 9 yo daughter, and also raclette.

Who is your favorite artist (Non NFT)?

Probably Hayao Miyazaki if I have to keep one, but a lot of artists from different mediums have inspired me throughout my life, as Don Rosa and Gotlib in comics, Magritte and Hopper in painting, Sebastião Salgado and Michael Kenna in photography …

Who is your favorite NFT artist?

Just want to say I don’t like to use this term “NFT artist”. NFT is a way, an interface, not an end. Around me I just see artists, without distinction. I think it’s weird to create only for nft.

MadMaraca is an incredible artist, i love her voxel worlds, I can spend a lot of time contemplating all the details of her pieces. Also a huge fan of Catelloo, Wit Olszewski, Ben Thomas, Aeforia, Retric Dreams, Florent Porta and so much more.

What made you pursue NFT art?

If I want to be honest, when I started to discover nfts, the idea of being able to live from your art was one of the main reasons why i went there, like a lot of people I guess. But, as I’ve heard many times from fellow artists, that’s not what made me stay. I discovered a bunch of amazing people always ready to help each others, who support their community with kindness, both from the designers side and from the collectors side. By the way I haven’t sold anything for almost 2 months, but I’m still here and I’m glad to find new incredible talents and people every day!

What is the one piece of NFT art you wish you had purchased but missed out on?

Whether the Storm by Ondrej Zunka

If you could travel anywhere in the world where would you go?

Japanese culture has inspired me since my childhood and I wish i could travel there one day.

What are your other passions besides art? Do you make other forms of art?

I spend a lot of time in my workshop doing woodwork. My favorite way to mind off things !

How did you come up with your specific style? How has your style evolved over the years?

I’ve gone through a lot of different styles since I started 3d. from very stylized to realistic, I would say that each new work takes me in a new direction towards the next, and evolves little by little, according to the inspirations and mood.

What is coming in the near future?

A bunch of new ideas in mind, and some collabs with amazing artists !

If you could collaborate with one artist who would it be?

I’d love to make a piece with Pilotpriest’s music, one of my favorites composers.

Do you have any upcoming drops?

A brand new piece “The Never Ending Night” will drop today on SuperRare !
