CryptoZR CONSENSUS: Solo Crypto Art Show in Hong Kong
CryptoZR CONSENSUS, the solo exhibition of crypto art by Liu Jiaying (CryptoZR), opens Thursday, November 5, 2026, at Pao Galleries, 5/F, Hong Kong Arts Centre, and runs through November 15. Admission is free. Curated by Gu Zhenqing, the show presents 15 works — including two new installations — drawn from nearly a decade of protocol-based practice.

Why CryptoZR CONSENSUS matters
Consensus, in blockchain terms, is confirmation without a single authority. Gu Zhenqing uses that idea as a lens on works CryptoZR has made with protocols, ledgers, and code since 2017. For creators and collectors watching institutional doors, the Hong Kong stop continues a public-museum thread that already includes the Guardian Art Center in Beijing (2021), the Arsenale in Venice (2022), and Saatchi Gallery in London (2023).
Liu introduced “Crypto Art” to Chinese discourse in 2019 as 加密藝術. That vocabulary still shapes how protocol-as-medium practice is discussed in the region — and how it sits inside the wider NFT art conversation online. Collection credits on the Arts Centre page place The Consensus in the Uli Sigg Collection and Red and Blue in the Ulsan Art Museum collection.

What’s on view
Per the exhibition site and the Arts Centre listing, roughly thirty works since 2017 are mapped along five threads; fifteen are installed in Wan Chai:
- ERC20 / money as material — including Out of Nothing (2017)
- NFT / ownership and meaning — including Red and Blue (2019) and 1000EYE (2019)
- Chains and protocols — including Small Goal, TopBidder, and The Consensus
- Metaverse museums — galleries and museums staged in virtual space
- Carbon and silicon — crossover works such as Silicon Time (2026)
Two new installations premiere in Hong Kong: A Fleeting Dream and Artbyss. Other named highlights on the Arts Centre page include Out of Nothing, 1000EYE, Red and Blue, The Consensus, Small Goal, TopBidder, and Silicon Time.

Institutional context
Hong Kong’s CryptoZR CONSENSUS stop sits alongside other museum and foundation moments tracked here — from the Francisco Carolinum blockchain collection across three chains, to Operator’s Human Unreadable at the Whitney, and Emi Kusano’s End of Nostalgia museum show in Japan. Different cities, same question: how public institutions frame onchain and protocol work for general audiences.
