NFT Couture: AELIS heads to Paris Fashion Week launching NFTs

For the first time in the couture world, AELIS launches its NFT.

A big first for the crypto and fashion ecosystem: the couture brand Aelis announced an innovative NFT operation during Paris Fashion Week 2021. The Italian house, designed by Sofia Crociani, announced that it will launch an NFT collection named “Luce ImmorTale” that stays true to its identity by pursuing her artistic and eco-sustainable engagement beyond the borders of reality.

While excitement around NFTs in the fashion industry was rising during the last few weeks, Aelis became the first couture house to launch an NFT Collection tied to physical art. Collection “Luce ImmorTale” features five NFTs, all connected to real-life elements (four drawings and one photo) in 1/1 edition, created and signed by Aelis’ founder and creative director Sofia Crociani. Frames of Sofia’s drawings will be marked with the NFT block number. Accompanied by the specialized structures Enephtys and NFT1, the NFTs will be auctioned one by one this summer, 2021. The NFTs in reality are complementary to one another, like pieces of a puzzle. However, they can also exist separately as each NFT tells the story of the young couture house.

Platforms and details of those auctions will be announced separately. The dress was presented during Haute Couture Fashion Week at Aelis virtual show but the specific piece has yet to be revealed.

Another interesting feature of the collection is the vesting period: just like in the traditional art industry, two years after the sale, the collection will be traveling around the world in different art galleries and museums and exhibited at different cultural events creating the provenance and history.

After the two years, the one collector who gathers more than three NFTs will be the owner of the first-ever tokenized haute couture dress, also tied to an NFT. The names of

the first collectors or DAOs who purchased the NFTs will be showcased together with the art pieces. The game will continue for two years and the only way to stop it is by gathering all five pieces. In that scenario, the collector will be able to claim the whole “Luce ImmorTale” collection: five framed NFTs and the dress.

“Aelis continues its artistic and eco-sustainable commitment beyond the borders of reality,” the house said in a statement. “The manifest and tangible world resonate in the virtual world of metaverses. These new spaces of creation and freedom, built on blockchain technology and which keep breaking the codes, are known for being developed in correlation and harmony with NFTs. Inspired by this creative impetus and breaks with the customs of conventional artistic expression, Aelis, therefore, decided to deliver its message as part of a one-of-a-kind NFT experience.”
