Dark Horizon is a nightmarish NFT game ecosystem set in a bleak future where 8,686 hand-drawn generative warriors fight to bring down the elite and break free from a life of misery.

How did you come up with the idea for this project? 

With climate change creating increasingly inhospitable conditions, how could we not? The world is already struggling to survive – we just imagined what would happen if the rich and powerful continue to use technology to save themselves and control the poor, while profiting off a dying planet. 

 

What makes this project unique? 

Our artwork, our concept, and our vision. As a team we’re committed to pushing the bounds and beauty of generative art, using innovations with transparency in our source files to ensure 8,686 unique artworks feel like they’ve been drawn individually. Our artists are industry professionals who’ve drawn for some famous franchises and publications and we want you to be proud to own a Dark Horizon.

Absorbing artwork is only the first step however in a larger mission to create a dystopian turn-based NFT game, like Axie Infinity or Final Fantasy. We have a strong relationship with an impressive game development powerhouse, have already began designing the game with them, and will enact that development roadmap the second we conclude our launch. 

 

How big is the team and what are their roles? 

Big. We’ve all been involved in NFTs and have experience with launches so we know what needs to be done and how to make this successful for our holders. As mentioned we have great artists onboard, a superb marketing and socials team, and a promising partnership with game developers who have a proven track record. A strong launch is one thing, but most teams think that’s the end of the hard work: we see it as the first step in adding real value to our community and creating a killer game ecosystem.

We have switched to Ethereum from Solana on the advice of new industry advisors who have joined the team, and after listening to concerned community members. We do believe that Sol will be great one day, but it posed too many risks: Ethereum is proven and stable, and, while gas fees aren’t ideal, greater exposure comes from being on Opensea and we can build the game on a L2 like Polygon. 

What is the mint size? 

8,686 – all will be revealed as the truth comes to light. 

Are there any mechanics we should know about? 

We’re focusing on delivering a real, enjoyably-addictive game that adds value to our holders’ NFTs not on gimmicks that add artificial short term pumps.
