NFTCulture Morning Minute

Today’s NFTCulture daily digest covers several important developments in the NFT industry, including a misleading headline regarding Dapper Labs’ court case, an airdrop from Collab Land, and a cryptic teaser video from Coinbase.

A recent Bloomberg headline claiming that NBA Top Shot Moments NFTs are securities caused panic in the NFT and crypto communities, but the headline was incorrect. The judge has not ruled on the case, and instead denied Dapper’s motion to dismiss the class-action complaint against them. Dapper is being sued in Federal Court for allegedly violating securities laws by offering NFTs for sale without filing appropriate registration statements.

Collab Land is airdropping its governance token, $COLLAB, to its Top 100 Discord communities, NFT holders, and more. The airdrop begins today and could potentially see a brief run from those who missed out on previous airdrops.

Coinbase launched a cryptic teaser video that features a blue circle inscribed with 02.23.23, leading to rampant speculation about what it could mean. NFT sleuths found that several Coinbase employees held this NFT, causing it to gain traction and a 5.4 ETH floor.

Other NFT news includes trading volume reaching a new local high of 74,000 ETH, the acquisition of 0n1 Force by a purchasing group including former executives from Binance, Art Blocks adding listing functionality and a royalty adjustment feature, and the launch of Yuga Labs’ “Lick the Toad” game for Sewer Pass holders. In the broader crypto and Web3 world, Uniswap launched functionality to buy any ERC-20 NFT with any cryptocurrency, Google Cloud will be a validator on the Tezos network, and LinksDAO is bidding on a golf course in Scotland following a DAO vote in favor of the move.

The top NFTs in terms of total volume are MAYC, Azuki, and BAYC, while the top NFTs in terms of floor price increase are This Artwork Is Subject To Change, Potatoz, and Collab.Land Genesis.
