Canto NFTs popularity on the rise

The popularity of Canto NFTs can be attributed to speculative buying by traders who hope to profit from the success of new blockchains. People are searching for “the CryptoPunks of Canto,” early NFT projects that may significantly increase in value. This trend has been seen before with the launch of NFTs on Solana, Avax, Doge, and other blockchains, but it typically ends unprofitably. A big buy by whale trader Dingaling contributed to the recent surge in Canto NFTs. It remains uncertain whether these NFTs will still be significant by Valentine’s Day, with Ding betting they will be while others have doubts. Regardless, it is an intriguing development to observe.

Holders can obtain Doodles 2 Beta Passes and Doodles 2 Wearables through their Dooplicators. These Doodles 2 collections are currently being traded on the Gaia Marketplace on Flow.

The Doodles 2 Beta Passes began trading with a floor price of $200 and achieved a trading volume of around $13,000 in the first eight hours.
The pricing of the Doodles 2 Wearables is more diverse, with a lower floor price of $20 and some items selling for higher prices, such as a pair of holographic boxing gloves sold for $850. The wearables have generated $44,000 in trading volume on Gaia so far.
Following activation, the floor price of Dooplicator has decreased to 0.66 ETH this morning, from a peak of 1.52 ETH last week. The OG collection has also decreased from 7.9 ETH to 6.5 ETH during that same period.

Yuga Labs Clarifies Copyrights

In June 2022, Yuga Labs filed a lawsuit, Yuga Labs v. Ryder Ripps et. al., against artist Ryder Ripps and his business partner Jeremy Cahen for alleged trademark infringement. Yuga Labs claimed that the defendants used its trademarks without permission for their copycat collection of Bored Apes, titled “RR/BAYC.”

Jeremy Goldman, a representative of Yuga Labs, has stated that the company owns the copyright for the Bored Ape Yacht Club artwork. Despite some differences between the BAYC license and the more recent licenses for CryptoPunks and Meebits, acquired from Larva Labs on March 11, 2022.

Yuga Labs owns the copyright for its artwork, even if it has not been officially registered.
As the copyright owner of the Bored Ape Yacht Club artwork, Yuga Labs has the exclusive right to use and authorize others to use the work.
The relationship between the copyright and the material object can be compared to that of an artist and a collector. Even if the collector owns the painting, the artist still retains ownership of the copyright.
A BAYC NFT gives rights to both the material object and the copyright.

RTFKT Pods Burn
