YuLiang Liu 劉·昱良 is a Berlin-based multidisciplinary visual artist. Originally from Taiwan, Liu only started discovering his own ways of expression after his relocation to the German capital in 2015.

Please give us a little bit of your background

I am Yuyu, a photographer and collage artist, that appropriates landmark artworks of European history to add inclusivity and de-stigmatise nudity.

Where are you from?

I am originally from Taiwan (born & raised) and currently located in Germany

What is your favourite thing to do on a weekend?

Honestly, just go for a walk, get a bubble tea and watch movies with my partner

My pillow

Who is your favourite artist (Non NFT)?

I need to squeeze two artist in here:

William-Adolphe Bouguereau for his fascinating technical skills and lights.

Frida Kahlo for her self portraiture and the way she’s being vulnerable at exposing her inner insecurities.

Who is your favourite NFT artist?

This is a close to impossible-to-answer question! There is so much talent around. Now if you’d put a gun in my head, I would probably say Shavonne Wong for not only being a fantastic artist but also an advocate of NFTs that bridges the digital and the physical world. Her Vogue Singapore first ever NFT cover will be in the history books.

What made you pursue NFT art?

Hope. Lol.

Coming from a really challenging 2020 I joined the scene in mid-2021 with no expectations really. I wanted to learn more about the innovation on Web3 and the possibilities for the future of art market. I am so glad I did 🙂
