19 January 2022: Following the first day of play at the Australian Open, AO Metaverse has transferred the match results from the winning points into IPFS metadata of AO Art Ball NFTs. From today, 14:00 AEDT AO Art Ball NFT holders could check their match-point updates from the previous day one of play. Day 2 data is currently going through quality assurance validation. NFT holders were able to link their Metamask to AO Art Ball’s match points site and link out to OpenSea to see their NFT properties updated.

What match point data was revealed
The 62 match points from day 1 of play were updated on the corresponding NFTs, one match point for one NFT. There are 128 men’s and women’s matches in round one.
Match points from Men’s AO seeded player games were updated on the corresponding AO Art Ball tokens: 2nd seed Medvedev (RUS) #1322, 3rd seed Zverev (GER) 6374, 4th seed Tsitsipas (GRE) #4823, 5th seed Rublev (RUS) #3596 6th seed Nadal (ESP) #3231, 17th seed Monfils (FRA) #3121, world 26th Rinderknech #1858, 32nd seed De Minaur #4006 (AUS) in addition to five-time finalist Murray #2970 world 89th Millman (AUS) #3299.
AO Metaverse have named the highlight from day 1 as 111th seed (ITA) Martina Trevisan’s backhand drop shot which Hibino (JPN) mis-anticipated to land out, Trevisan winning the day 1 match, and updating AO Art Ball #2662.

Match points from Women’s AO seeded player games were updated on the corresponding AO Art Ball tokens: 2nd seed Sabalenka (BLR) #6675, 4th seed Krejcikova (CZE) #1094, 5th seed Sakkari (GRE) #3669, 8th seed Badosa (ESP) #2328, 13th seed Osaka (JPN) #1040, 14th seed Halep (ROU) #2683, 17th seed Radcanau (GBR), 18th seed Gauff (USA) #6178, 21st seed Pegula (USA) #1479.
Updated properties
NFT holders were able to link their Metamask to the AO Art Ball match points site and see their NFT properties updated from a direct link out to OpenSea from 14:00 AEDT 19 January 2022. AO Metaverse added the name of the player, the championship and the round in which the match was won.
AO Art Ball quality assurance process
Technology
AO Metaverse receives detailed match data from the last point of every match, sent to them directly from the AO, collected by Electronic Line Calling Technology. This is the same data and technology used to officiate Australian Open matches.
AO Metaverse ingests this data into the AO Metaverse Integration System (AMIS) which translates this raw data into a 3D model of the tennis court. Here, it visualises the entire final point from racket to court, velocity and final placement of the ball, to determine the ball placement and its corresponding plot.
Quality Assurance is a triple-validated process
Blockchain specialists at web3 consultancy Run it Wild perform first round, second & third round validation of the AO Metaverse Interpretation System (AMIS) against the token ID.
Meanwhile AO Metaverse generates match point winning stickers for the NFT metadata.
AO Metaverse push updates to IPFS. Each update will have a reference hash on IPFS – all updates are verified with the provenance updated on-chain for perpetuity.
Match point Rules
A match point is defined by the match winning point from the last legal bounce in the court of play.
If the match is determined by a shot that does not land on a plot (e.g. double fault or ‘out’ balls), then we will revert to the last legal bounce inside the court of play (from the winning player).
If more than one match point lands on one plot, then the NFT metadata will be updated accordingly.

How and when AO Art Ball holders can check their properties
From 19 January 2022 14:00 AEDT NFT holders were able to link their Metamask wallet to the AO Art Ball match points site and see their NFT properties updated from a link out to OpenSea.
From 20 January 2022, the AO Metaverse system is expected to catch up, as fewer matches are drawn towards 30th January finals. Incoming match data and will be shared with AO Art Ball holders via match points site around 10:00 AEDT every morning.
From 18 January 2022, anyone can join AO Metaverse and Metakey 10:00 -15:00 AEDT to get a daily fix of project updates, chat with some special guests, ask questions and watch some epic match point rallies. As of 20 January 2022, AO Metaverse x Metakey daily recaps will be running from around 10:45am [AEDT] via the Metakey Twitch Stream, and Metakey YouTube.
