SORARE Partners with Premier League

Collect, buy, sell, and trade officially licensed digital player cards from the Premier League’s 20 clubs. Build your fantasy team and compete to win big rewards.

French startup Sorare has signed a four-year licensing partnership with the Premier League, one of the world’s most-watched sports leagues. Sorare is a fantasy sports gaming platform based on non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and uses Ethereum blockchain to register unique trading cards representing football players. The players can buy, sell, and earn points based on real-life player performance. Sorare has already raised $680 million in a Series B funding round and has partnerships with football leagues including LaLiga, Bundesliga, and Serie A. With the addition of the Premier League, Sorare users will now have access to all 20 clubs and league-specific competitions. Sorare has also partnered with the NBA and MLB to expand its offerings to fans of other sports.

Football fans around the world can now collect, buy, sell, and trade officially licensed digital cards featuring every player from across the Premier League’s 20 clubs — building and competing with custom teams to win big rewards, just like a professional club owner.

“The way that supporters follow their favourite teams and players is evolving and the Premier League is always looking for ways to engage with fans,” said Richard Masters, Chief Executive of the Premier League. “Sorare’s digital cards and innovative online game represent a new way for them to feel closer to the Premier League whether they are watching in the stadium or from around the world. We believe that Sorare are the ideal partner for the Premier League and we look forward to working closely together.”

About the Premier League

The Premier League is the top division of professional football in England and is widely regarded as one of the best and most competitive leagues in the world. It was formed in 1992 as a result of a breakaway from the Football League First Division, and has since grown into one of the most recognizable and lucrative sporting competitions globally.

The Premier League consists of 20 teams, each playing 38 matches over the course of a season, which runs from August to May. The teams play each other twice, once at their home stadium and once away. The team with the most points at the end of the season is crowned champion, and the bottom three teams are relegated to the second-tier division, the English Football League Championship.

Some of the world’s biggest and most successful clubs play in the Premier League, including Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, and Tottenham Hotspur. This attracts many of the best players from around the world, making the league a showcase of the highest level of football talent.
