NFT Artist Interview: Federico Clapis

Federico Clapis is another incredible talent that has moved to the NFT world.  His art is already reaching peak demand with his latest drop on SuperRare fetching over 16Ξ (ETH). His creations tackle the dystopian future through an ironic lens. The Italian artist will surely continue to make waves as the NFT market continues to grow. here’s our interview…

Thanks for agreeing to do this Federico, why don’t you tell us about yourself for our audience?

I’ve been an artist for many many years, from viral videos on social media to bronze sculptures, I’ve tried to explore the humanities intersecting with art.  About a decade ago, I began an inner journey to explore the intimate conditions of the human soul.  From there, I moved to India and lived in an ashram, eventually moving west through existential pathways.

Wow! That’s deep!  Tell us a bit about your art. The NFTs you’ve released are incredible and poignant and do not require explanation or interpretation.

Thank you.  I view art as a materialization of experiences as well asa a medium of introspection to share with others.  As you can tell, my digital art focuses on technology, but I try to include the technology piece in all my creations as a metaphor for the contemporary that explores the human condition.

Go on…

Today so many interactions and addictions stem from media and social networks.  My art explores the arousal in the human experience considering the act part integrand of the intention. My sculptures, installations, and videos are vehicle or vessel that I hope provides a profound journey or adventure that discovers shared interiority of the artist and user.

Well, your art definitely conveys that. We’re huge fans.  Let’s get to know you a little better. What is the one thing you can’t live without?

I can’t live without my smartphone….  <irony>

You’re already a successful and well established artist, what made you pursue NFT art as a medium?

NFT are already the present and the future. They undermine the relationship with the matter, with the physical world, with its fragility. They give me the opportunity to explore an immaterial world, but despite this, equally full of meaning.

We ask everyone this question, what is the one piece of NFT art you with you had purchased but missed out on?

Like many of the NFT artists who’ve just entered the space, I have not dedicated myself to collecting NFT, I will in the future, but I’ve been focusing on my work first. I make art for the collectors and to dissect the human condition.  I’m sure there are pieces I’ve missed out on, but I want to collect art that is beautiful, not because its is profitable.  At the moment I’m investing in other type of NFT as for example Digital Lands where build artistic experiences. I believe that is the future.

Where do you see the NFT space heading?

I think NFT will become our common use and part of the public opinion and they will undermine the material value of goods because there will be new materials, rare, precious and safe.

What is your biggest piece of art NFT or otherwise?

My big work is a monumental bronze sculpture, realized for Eidoo Wallet with the intention to tell about the crypto world through a sculpture. The work was an installation for the most important squares in London and reposted by the worldwide media.

Last question, Whats next? Tell us about your upcoming NFT drops!

The next drop will be on Super Rare this 10th March at 7.00PM CET. It will be the digitalizing Touch Scream, of one of my iconic work physically exposed in museum.
I have the intention to grow a lot in this world, I want to digitalizing all my iconic sculpture and I would like to tell them with a little animation.

Federico it has been a pleasure, where can collectors learn more about you and find your art?
